apple warranty

Hi,

I have an iphone 6 and i bought a 6s. the 6 will go to my son. However now that i took off the screen protector, I see that the face camera has been moved. I googled it and it seems to be a common issue.

I will have an appointment at apple store tonight. However the iphone 6 is out of the one year warranty apple gives. My understanding is that the law says in Switzerland that warranty should be 2 years. Now how this will work? Will apple just tell me i am out of the year and bad luck? Or will they still replace/repair it? Or do I need to be pushy with them?

Anybody with experience?
Thanks a lot

Re: apple warranty

It should be covered and in my experience you wont have to argue with them.

Also if you check https://supportprofile.apple.com it should say it is still in warranty.

The law is clear, and Apple acknowledge it here:

I suggest you print it out and take it with you, but from recent friends experience they seem to have stopped the resistance now.

Shouldn't be a problem anymore. Before you buy AppleCare over the phone, they even explicitly tell you now that Switzerland already has a 2 year warranty by law.

Hope I'm not passing on wrong advice, just my own recent experience (the Google translation of this link was pretty poor ).

I believe you will find that the 2 year Apple warranty only applies to extended guarantees, which you purchase when buying the product, even in CH.

But Apple actually has great repair/replacement schemes that don't cost the earth. It's also worth checking out if this was a known defect in the product - then they will replace it for free.

But again, just going by experience - the Apple Store are usually good in helping find the best solution.
