Internet provider

Hello everyone,

Which internet providers can you recommend? Ideally - not very expensive and highly reliable

Thank you in advance and enjoy your day.

Re: Internet provider

I recommend cablecom/UPC, good value for money, reliable as well.
Basic internet(2Mbit) is free, the range varies from 40 -500 mbit.

You've got to be kidding. 33.95 per month just for having the socket, which many people don't realise they're paying for, and high activation fees.

Re: Internet provider (or I hate Cablecom)!

I have just had the most incredibly frustrating, annoying, hair-pulling, tantrum inducing experience this week with Cablecom customer service, and I would absolutely not recommend them.

(As an additional problem, unrelated to the experience above, our internet constantly 'drops' and we have trouble with our cable, despite having the 'fast' connection). I don't have the mental stamina to call and complain about that again, instead I will be changing provider ASAP.

Re: Internet provider

You surely have a specific problem difficult to arrange, usually they are good (I have had them for many many years), mind don't like them putting their prices up

Re: Internet provider

Checked on the iway.ch page and got this result:

Quote:
Die zur Zeit technisch erreichbare Bandbreite beträgt: 20000/2000 Kbps.

Glasfaser Stadtnetze
Gebäude ist nicht an ein städtisches Glasfasernetz angeschlossen.

Internet ganze Schweiz - Fiber
Gebäude ist nicht mit Fiber erschlossen.

LiteXchange Verbund
Gebäude ist nicht in den LiteXchange Verbund aufgenommen.
Does this indeed mean I cannot use anything above 20/2Mbps at my address?
Any other (more) reliable source of information?
If I talk to the providers they might be the usual sellers and be quiet about this fact.

Re: Internet provider

Hi,
since I moved to Switzerland I have upc cablecom, I did not have any problem at all, I'm trying to save something but for me is still the cheapest.
I have internet 100Mb and the TV with all the channels I need and I pay 66chf per month, If I switch to sunrise or swisscom I'll pay minimum 100chf.

Any better deal?

Ciao

Re: Internet provider

I just signed up with Sunrise after cancelling Cablecom. The online form asks for the OTO glass fibre connection number which I gave. Then afterwards they tell you you have to call someone to give them the OTO number... TI still S.

The confirmation order also says "follow your order online!" but whenever I try I get "A technical error has occurred. Please try again later.". I sure hope the actual connection is good if it ever gets set-up.

BTW for cablecom, they want you to call *only* if you think they can give you a better offer. If you tell them you're moving, which is what I did, they tell you to write in and immediately hang-up.

They may have done that in your case but I cancelled with a single phone call.
