Re: New Salt Europe deal

Yes, I saw that on their website earlier. Seems to be an extension of the deal I took advantage of last month, discussed at the time
Salt unlimited offer CHF 49/month - today only

Re: New Salt Europe deal

Hi,

I think all these deals are a big problem for existing customers. I have a plus europe subscription and was able to get a deal where I got a CHF 200 reduction on a 2 year contract. I was relatively happy with the deal until 2 weeks later I saw that I could have got a reduction of 45% for a 1 year contract.

These deals are destroying the brand, why should anyone pay full price for a subscription ? They are bad for existing customers who think they have massively overpaid for their subscription.

Good for the lucky ones and bad for the rest.

Have fun
Martin

Re: New Salt Europe deal

Plus Europe was still 89 when I renewed Plus Swiss on Monday for 59...

I wonder will they have any shred of goodwill... 22 minutes on hold already :-/

edit: No. They do not.

You have until end of play tomorrow. It's worth the hold. My renewal went without a hitch. It's a cracking deal (for Switzerland).

Which number did you call? I got pointed to a different number to try and change from Das Abo from the customer service rep (on hold now, trying the cancellation department). He said the other number has the authority to make the changes, he cannot.

Line who said they couldn't help me: 0800 667 667

Cancellation line: 0800 780 100, worked right away to switch me from Das Abo to the new 49CHF plan.

*EDIT*

And the cancellation line worked without a hitch! Just press 1 to go to cancellations, wait on hold, and they were very helpful, I did not mention calling before. They may be able to help you get the new contract?

I tried the cancellations number twice earlier, but pesky work got in the way so I had to hang up. I'm sticking with it now. It's a right PITA for a contract that only began yesterday.

Edit: again, useless. As I renewed online, there is no legally required cooling off period and they are not willing to do anything. Only the "complaints department" can do this - and that's accessible via an online form.

Re: New Salt Europe deal

Hi,

I am confused as to why my comment got a groan ?

I have already had a similar conversion with Salt customer service and they are aware that for existing customers these deals are making people feel like they have over paid.

Good luck to all those who can get the deal. I missed a similar one by just 2 weeks.

Have fun
Martin

Just tried and was told sure, no problem, just pay CHF80 a month penalty.

Usually totally helpful, this time sucky.

I guess there must be a change in the air regarding roaming charges across the continent for them to be offering such reductions. Anyone know anything about the abolition of roaming..?

The EU has killed it, pretty much.

Re: New Salt Europe deal

Hi,

I am not complaining about things being expensive here and never have. This is my home and I am very happy here. I have lived here 27 years and I don't complain about things here being expensive. We get paid well here and so the absolute price is irrelevant. I have paid a lot more in the past.

I have zero comprehension for the current Salt business model. It feels like the existing customers are being penalised in order to get new customers.

Have fun
Martin

Yeah so much for the huge fanfare of Salt being a game changer. I asked the customer service what happened there - and they just said - sorry it's just not there anymore. T&Cs of course reflect this.

Re: New Salt Europe deal

Not quite as good of a deal as the Plus Europe, but still a deal.
My husband changed his plan and had to pay a penalty of 2.50 per month for changing. Still cheaper as he has used up the data on his existing plan for Pokemon hunting....

30% discount on Plus Swiss.
Everything unlimited in Switzerland.

New:

60 min to the EU & USA.
2.4 GB/year in the EU.
39.–/month instead of 59.–

A 40.– voucher at Microspot.ch is offered for every order.

Offer valid until 28.07.2016.

Re: New Salt Europe deal

It's like they have absolutely no clue about how SALT (Pita) is being run.
Their constantly offering one off deals that undercut and undermine their existing customers and
removing any good parts of the existing deals (6 weeks cool off cut silently). ITs like someone is
figuring ok enough suckers cut the fat to the bone.

Not only is SALT bad value its just bad practice and unless you live in a city bad signals as well...
only 2g around fribourg countryside. Pathetic..

Their 24 month contracts are a farce and a joke... unlike other PAYG options
From other carriers.. HELL even sunrise offers monthly contracts and a 2 month get out clause..

Remember to toss the SALT over your shoulder when signing their contract.

You can bet a better one comes alone a week later

A.

Re: New Salt Europe deal

Well then just run to Swisscom or Sunrise and pay quite a bit more
Because that is the choice... I don't know about Sunrise but I am sure the Swisscom network is better than Salt's. But their price is quite a bit higher too.
