How to beat Amazon Prime's geographic restrictions?

Hi all,

We signed up for Amazon Prime (US) about a month and a half ago, and we really like it (unlike Netflix, which we never watched). With our VPN, we circumvented the geographic restrictions no problem for that first month and a half, and now it doesn't seem to work. After a little research online, I learned that browsers broadcast location information, so I installed Location Guard on my Chrome browser. This solution worked for 1 day, and then I accidentally left my VPN off the next day, and now I am always blocked by Amazon (even with both VPN and Location Guard in place).

Does anyone know any other solutions for getting around these geographic restrictions? There are, of course, other less savory solutions for getting the content I want, but it seems silly that I am more than happy to pay Amazon for the content, but they won't let me buy it!

Thanks. JW

Thanks, I just signed up for Unlocator, and it works perfect. And unlike a VPN, their offer appears designed for unlocking geographic restrictions, rather than simply being an afterthought. Still, annoying that there is this geographic restrictions arms race that we have to engage in.

Unlocator also has a (at no additional cost) VPN. Check their website for instructions how to activate it.

Now, if I only could access iPlayer without having a UK TV license. I pay the cable company to access the BBC (and others) but their catch up product isn't iPlayer. I feel I am contributing to the BBC's cost through my cable payment, although I might be wrong on this.

YOu can use iPlayer without tv licence. Just use it - with your DNS proxy.

Thanks for the tip, bowlie. I hadn't noticed the included VPN. My current one has a few months to run, but I guess I won't need to renew it then.
