Look at Simplifymedia, details here. It claims to be able to access your itunes music collection remotely. If it works (and I am in work so will have to wait to try it) then who cares about memory size?

It's currently free for the first 100,000 downloads, $3.99 after that.
thanks - downloading as we speak. Won't be able to try it until tonight, though

woah, potential killer app!

Edit: Just noticed that is requires Rhythmbox, hopefully it is possible to get this running on a machine that doesn't have X installed.

Apple filed a patent recently for something similar and I thought at the time that it has massive potential. If they continue the sharing theme with other apps too, then I'll have thousands of photos on my iphone

I went for dinner at a friend's the other day, and then acted as DJ using their itunes library. Remote is just great! I'm starting to like my new toy, a user friendly interface for a whole load of apps

Some of my favourte app store apps

- SBB train timetable (free) - Does what it says
- Byline RSS reader (11 CHF) - A dedicated RSS reader that can cache links for off-line viewing, very useful for long flights
- GPS tracker (free) - Register an account on their website and it uploads your real time tracking info and overlays the trail onto a google map
- German phrasebook (free)
- LOL cats (free) - My daily dose of Kitty cuteness
- Sol free solitaire game - 3 free versions of solitaire
- Sudoku free
- Converter (1 CHF) - Convert any measure from Speed to Kitchen measures

Re: iPhone application recommendations

my apps of the day:

- iTeletext (apparently only available through iTunes at the moment). Costs 6.60.- CHF but is well worth the money, if you ask me. Gives you full access to the teletext services of many European TV stations - in Switzerland they offer SF1, TSI 1, TSI 2, Sat 1 CH, Kabel 1 CH, Cern-labs Teletext. In the UK: BBC Ceefax 1, BBC Ceefax 2, MANU Text. Ireland: RTE 1. I tested it and it works as advertised

- Wikipanion Full access to (English) Wikipedia

Re: iPhone application recommendations

Finally, the free good games have arrived. These are basically all classic games given the iPhone sheen.

Tris (Tetris basically)

Break Classic (Where you try and destroy blocks by bouncing a ball off of them, classic atari etc game)

CannonGame / Cannon Challenge (change the angle and power of the shots you fire to destroy a non line-of-sight enemy.

did you get this to work via 3G? It works at home via WiFi but as soon as I'm on the 3G or EDGE network it'll just say "buffering" and do nothing

Re: iPhone application recommendations

BA Flights has been useful, as i sometimes travel back to the UK using BA, i can easily find my flights and check if they are late.Hopefully they will revise this to allow easy online checkin at some point.

I love a good weather app but there are not many to write home about at the moment. Weatherbug seems to only work in F and not C, hopefully they will update that too.

LastFM is also a clever little tool, works best and cheapest with wifi of course. You need to sign up but it is free and works out what kind of music you like and streams that to you.

doesn't look like it - probably because of copyright issues.
Tuner doesn't quite do the same but it works well for radio streaming. I used it for a while until Bluewin TV started offering internet radio stations via the STB
