Re: iPhone application recommendations

I've been playing Trace. A cool game, with lots of different levels (I reckon there's upwards of three hours of gameplay). You start with a little man and have to draw bridges and stuff to get him to a circle on the other side of the screen. Simple to play, lots of fun and free (it was when I downloaded it this week).

Oh and I see SBB is back on the iTunes store and seems to have been updated to allow for the full deletion of text fields etc.

I hadn't noticed for a while, as it didn't register as an update, but as an entirely new application.

The update does a great job, though I didn't find it quite as intuitive, I've now got the hang of it. History function is useful, but the best thing is the "Take me home" feature. You supply your local bus/tram/train station in the settings, then you can just hit the take me home button, and it works out the nearest public transport stop to where you are now and how to get back from there. If it intergrated to maps better so you could find the stop, it would be perfect.

I want to thank you, but some explanation of the history of this game (and how to play it!) would be nice. Us young people have a very limited attention span.

Rogue is a classic UNIX game from yore, ultra simple, just wander through the dungeon gathering loot and fighting creatures. The text version is my favourite, but there's also a graphical version in the app too, either is selected by rotating the phone.

Brief history and further info available here Wikipedia reference-linkRogue (computer game)

Re: iPhone application recommendations

Excellent, Simcity will soon be here, another great timewaster.

Also been playing Touchgrind, a nifty liftle skateboard game, kind of works like those little finger skateboards, it's a bugger to navigate though, but pretty satisfying when you manage a trick.

Missile Command keeps me coming back for more too.

I saw Amazon have released an app, it lets you take a picture of anything and the amazon monkeys will identify it and send you a link to purchase it, but I can't find it in the app store, is it US only?

SBB/CFF time table on special iPhone app.

Just thought many on here with an iPhone would like to know that SBB has created a special time table app available free from the app store. Link here http://www.sbb-mobileworld.ch/fahrplan/iphone/?lang=4

I think that if you delete your original post the whole thread goes away. The shrinking band of moderators is overworked; we should do all we can to lighten their load.

by far the two apps i use the most, and the two best implemented in my opinion, are bloomberg and facebook.

they really show off the best about the iphone and what it can do.

FB really is pretty good, I love the intergation to the camera, so you can take, tag, caption and post photos in one go. It makes a good alternative to keeping photos on the phone too, as it's fairly easy to browse your own photos.

Wish events were there too though, wonder why it's not included, it's one of the better features of FB.

Re: iPhone application recommendations

I would love it if IMDB released an official mobile version of their movie database. In the meantime however, there is this rather spartan iPhone web version here
