The upside is there's little reason more for customs to check you for 'em when returning from US/UK and the Original iphone price will drop. My mate recently paid 600CHF for one unlocked. Anyone know the recent Ricardo prices? | | | | | 200chf with 55chf/month tariff is really cheap though, who will buy a v1 iPhone? Those selling them would have to sell them at a loss to make them attractive.

I just sold mine for 450.- but that one was almost a year old.

| | | new thread?
Dear mods - this thread is over 1000 posts long, wouldn't it be better to have a new thread for the 3G iPhone?

I feel stupid that I reserved one at swisscom before they announced the prices but I'll just wait and see if Orange comes out with a better plan and if the prices are better then I will get it at Orange. Is it possible to cancel a pre-order??

Apart from that: reservations in Swisscom Shops aren't binding anyway (for neither side!)

I've reopened the thread as it doesn't need to be closed. Always feel free to create new topics when you think that there is a subject that truly deserves its own topic.
As for those folks with iPhones that aren't 3G, you can post here or create a new thread. It's up to you, the users.

Hi to all. I'm new to this forum, just found it, and I'm glad I did .
So I've got some questions about the iPhone 2G. I'm from Macedonia but I will be visiting Swiss soon, and I was wondering what's the price of the iPhone 2G but without a contract-just the price of the phone, and in which stores could I find it(in Zurich or Schafhausen). Also, I'm curious about the new iPhone, the 3G one. What's it's price without a contract?

Some shops sold phones imported from the us.
Only swisscom sells the iPhone 3g unlocked - for 899 and 1199 chf (8gb/16gb)
More info in the faq. Availability is close to non-existent at the moment

Are you sure Swisscom is selling the iPhone unlocked? I believe that they are selling it with a prepaid option, which means that there is no ongoing contractual obligation and no monthly fee. However, it is often the case that phones sold this way are indeed vendor locked, which means you cannot just buy the phone and use it with whatever SIM card you like. Have you checked this explicitly? I tried to look into the Swisscom terms and conditions and it was not clear (it may be that you essentially need to registered to find out the detailed terms).

i do not know about the draft thing, maybe not.
you can send to more than one person, you select individually.
txts do not "get lost".
dont believe everything you hear.
