Torn: C-Com is sh*te, can I trust them for BB?

Friends,

I have been in CH six months now and have decided I really need broadband. I have had Cable Com as my digi tele provider and they are complete morons. Main example, despite my best efforts to ring them to correct the incorrect details they have for me, they never seem to change them. As a result, they never sent me a bill in six months, then they send Justitia (collection agency) after me, who strangely have my correct details.

Notwithstanding this fact, at CHF 6 per month for digi tele, they are far and away the cheapest option. It also seems they are no more expensive for broadband than any other provider, and I gather that if I want broadband without a fixed line, I must have either CC or Bluewin, no? So given this, am I better of continuing a relationship with a company I despise for their complete incompetence, but are cheap, or should I move to Bluewin and pay alot more for digi television and about the same for broadband?

Many thanks for your insights on my quandry.

So why didn't you just change the details online? Only would have taken a few minutes and it would be done. So much easier than ringing...

That's what I did too - change it online .. after receiving the correct credentials by postal mail.

Apparently Cablecom (and everyone on the English Forum) seem to think you are located in the UK..

Looking to compare broadband prices..? Go here:

Ikea has slipped a little

The products are excellent, but their customer service sucks big time.

CC managed to overcharge me CHF 1000.- (combination of bills and the Jura junta). After hours on the phone listening to ABBA I finally got through, and their resolution was not to bill me for a year. A year later I receive a bill for CHF 6.- and neglect to pay it, and a few days later they cut off my TV and Internet. Idiots!

The products are good, but customer service and the billing system are beyond repair.

Wow! Lots of complaints about cablecom. I actually just got a bill from them for 350 CHF and I'm not even signed up with them. We bought our house a couple of years ago and now when we finally moved in there was no cable so we subscribed to Bluwin.

I tried to send cablecom an email, since they didn't have English as an option on the phone, but their email wasn't working. When I'd submit the form I'd get: Page cannot be displayed.

I finally reached them today and explained what happened and the lady said, "OK, just throw away the bill then! We got your names from the previous owners of the house." What is that all about?

Not possible, since I never had a bill, never had a Kundennummer, so could not login to their website. Now that I finally have a bill I just tried logging on, and they have directed me to Justitia. From the sublime to the ridiculous . . .

All the information you need to log on is included with the modem when you received it

Use the MAC address and your customer number, refer to the delivery docket you received with your modem

Cablecom are totally random. And thats the nicest way I can put it. Yes you will spend several wasted hours on the phone with them, but if you can put up with it for their cheap prices then do it. I'd rather save my blood pressure and as soon as my 12 month contract with them is up I moving to Swisscom.

If you dash towards to the Complaints Corner ( Swisscom Grrrrrr ), you might find that some are having issues with Swisscom's service as well.

Yeah, that's my problem, they seem so much cheaper. They're now doing BB (5000/500) for just CHF 22.5 a month and no fixed line costs like I'd have with ADSL. Bluewin TV would be 3x as much as Im currently paying CC (or not paying as the case happens to be), and I gather they couldnt do BB at that price.
