Apparently there are
54 telephone cabins (German) throughout Switzerland that allow all calls made over the landline for no cost at all.
If there is an A4 sized, blue sticker in the cabin with the words" Hier gratis telefonieren aufs gesamte Schweizer Festnetz", then you can telephone for (hours) absolutely free. This is sponsored by local advertisers, you will see the sponsors advert underneath.
Altogether the K-Tipp have outed 11 cabins so far (they wrote 14, but I can only see 11).
Here's the list so far;
* Bern: Casinoplatz, bei der Tramhaltestelle Zytglogge
* Gossau ZH: Post und beim Gemeindehaus
* Grüt ZH: Post
* Lausanne: Av. de Provence
* Olten SO: Münzingerplatz und beim Bahnhof
* Pfäffikon ZH: Dorfplatz
* Rapperswil SG: Post, Fischmarktplatz und Zentrum Eisenhof
* Rapperswil-Jona: Zentrum Eisenhof
* Wangen SZ: Bahnhofstrasse 8
* Wetzikon ZH: Bahnhofstrasse
* Wynau BE: beim Gemeindehaus
Swisscom are keeping stumm ( I wonder why!?) as to whereabouts of the cabins, so the K-Tipp magazine asks consumers to inform them of any new ones they find, so should you find a new one, send the location to
redaktion@ktipp.ch
English is fine.
A useful thing to note I thought, hopefully it won't get cobwashed in the future.
ETA, Should anyone notice a new one, apart from notifying the K-tipp team, let us know here as well, cheers.
