AFL on EuroSport 2

Hello all - bit of a random question here, but does anyone know if the commentary for the AFL broadcasts is the same feed of CH.7 /TEN CH.9 in Aussie? (i.e. English Commentary)??

Having listened to 3AW's commentary on Friday night footy, and watching the game via AFL.com.au, I am thinking that if the radio stream is on, it would be 20-30sec ahead.

Toying with the idea of subscribing to EuroSport 2 (??!!) when I move over, but am hoping the AFL sort out the TV rights for the UK, or generously keep it free of charge for the foreseeable future via tinternet.

Appreciate your reply.

Good cheer.

Re: AFL on EuroSport 2

I don't have Cablecom digital but I have been told by others that Eurosport 2 puts a German commentary on the game.

Eurosport 2 is also available via Sky and they have the original commentary. But they only show a 90 minute package of one game plus a one hour highlights package. And for some reason it is not in widescreen.

However, just today the AFL have announced a deal with ESPN via Sky and will start broadcast three games a week starting next Friday.

All details here.

If I wanted to watch AFL games I'd get Sky or find one of the streams that has popped up for most games this season.

Looks like I am going to miss out for this term, as I refuse to get Sky in the UK- but for next season! Will mean me getting up very early or working from home!!

Shame, as I was getting free braodcasting here in Blighty via AFL.com.au as they were looking for a broadcaster to take up the mantle

And as for Riewoldt - are you sure he's not Ryan in Home and Away (Amanda's son....)
