Hey Just wondering if someone can tell me from experience how much a text to international countries costs with Orange? I've been searching the website for a while and am either searchingly challenged or there isn't info there.

Just figured someone would know from already getting a bill. Only had my phone 3 days so I don't want to go texting and then wind up with a 200 CHF bill...

Talking about regular SMS not MMS.

Also maybe someone can fill me in on a few other things:

1. Does it cost me when someone else calls me? (I know it shouldn't but just making sure)

2. Does it cost me when someone else texts me? (from Switzerland or internationally) I know some companies in Canada and the US charge when receiving text messages, is this true for Orange?

On Optima 30, sms to the UK cost me 23 rappen.

They will then optimize your costs, and adjust it to the best plan possible for your usage.

No charges for incoming calls/sms unless you're out of the Orange area and roaming, such as in border areas.

What about if I have unlimited text messaging? Any info about that? Will I get free or maybe reduced rate messaging?

Most likely those are only good for the Swiss networks.

I'm on Optima and SMS and calls to the UK are included in my monthly quota. Just don't use it outside CH though. A small amount of surfing, a few texts while in the UK and France and my last monthly bill was 400 CHF!

Ah, yes, I should have mentioned that too - calls to the UK are included (to the US, too, I believe), but not SMS.

i have a pre paid orange phone and it's ten cents er um rappen for me to SMS the US from switzerland and then i will be charged a roaming SMS price if i am in say germany or france.....i think they have packages....i just used prepaid instead of a contract thankfully.....calling the US did cost i believe a bit more....
