Can anyone recommend a technician who could come to our mother-in-law's house and fine tune the satellite set-up we have started to install ourselves - Zurich area?

Background: we bought a sat dish, receiver for astra/hotbird - complete set from Carrefour. The receiver broke and was, apparently, repaired.

Problem: we can't get both satellites at the same time, we can't save any channels. We've spent some money on additional parts: i.e. compass, universal monobloc lnb for hotbird/astra etc.

We don't know which parts are faulty or how to check if they work properly and are now really looking for recommended on-site help.

check the DiSEqC settings - sounds like you have the monoblock set wrongly in the box.

OK - will try that out. Do you know if there's a website where we can download programme/channel data to re-set the receiver via RS251 (?) connection?

There is a satellite to do that. Saves you updating software over RS232

Channels - it should scan once it's lined up (and you tell it to scan of course).
