Re: Mission impossible - BBC iPlayer on PS3?

Just following on from this, a friend is looking at how to set up the VPN on a PS3 to "work" from a UK IP address - hence iPlayer to work.....

Not sure when I will get the info, but will post as soon as I receive it.

Festive Cheer to all.

You can stream it from you computer through the PS3 if you have a UK IP on the computer?

Re: Mission impossible - BBC iPlayer on PS3?

HI,

In case you have not cracked it yet, try using this one, it's a paid for proxy server that not only gets you BBCi etc. but hides your ID on the internet, you can view USA TV too with this. If you want more info then contact me, I will gladly send it to you. So called 'free' proxies just don't work very well, if at all. Have a look, you have nothing to lose. By the way, it won't mention anything about viewing BBCi on the website for obvious reasons, but email the owner Tomas, you will get a quick response to tell you that the software works for this. Click on the link to the website.

Its usually good netiquette to mention that you are earning a commission from the referral

Re: Mission impossible - BBC iPlayer on PS3?

Sorry, I though it was fairly obvious from the link, which I had not hidden behind some type of hyperlink. I get a few pennies only if anyone subscribes to it, not just for clicking on it.

I am using it and it works great, now I don't have to suffer watching Coronation Street with my wife!

Regards,

Bob

Someone must have come up with a box that has a Ethernet I/O where you can program the box with a VPN and have buffer memory included. Sounds like a good university project.

Re: Mission impossible - BBC iPlayer on PS3?

I can recommend getting a login or referral for http://www.thebox.bz - all the UK TV you could ever want in the form of a torrent.

Stuff is capped and upped sometimes within hours, just d/l onto your Mac or God Forbid, PC and stream it or copy it to a pendrive.

There's even ancient stuff on there that I thought I'd never see again, like an episode of Valentine Park from 1988. Actually it was rubbish and it's completely ruined my happy memories of it but who wants to live in La La Land, which is another good series incidentally, Marc Wotton....

Re: Mission impossible - BBC iPlayer on PS3?

I'm surprised some smart, enterprising EFer doesn't rent a "well-connected" server from someone like these guys, bang in some appropriate proxy s/ware...

This putative smart enterprising guy might even get a UK TV licence to cover the "Using BBC live feeds via internet requires a TV licence" guff.
