I've just moved to Switzerland (Zurich) for a new job. I've not got much sorted out yet, but I'd like to buy an XBox 360.

If I go down to the store and buy one will I be able to play UK games on it? Will it work o.k if I ever take it back to the U.K? And how easy is it to get English games around Zurich?

Yes, they'll be fine, because all Europe is Zone 2, but if you have US games you will not be able to play with any Xbox if you buy from Here of from UK is the same Good luck

A brand new game here costs about 100CHF and usually in German. I usually order mine from www.play.com. UK site which delivers here. Works out cheaper!

If you buy games here don't forget that they may not have an English option.

If you had an XBox Live account in the UK, some of the functions (such as Games-On-Demand) will no longer work. There is no way for Microsoft to reset your location either, so the only option is to start a new XBox Live account.

I still use my UK account. I never use games on demand any so thats no prob. Most Demo's can still be downloaded but some new maps etc can't so I just started a second account to make it easy to get the maps for my main account.

Yeah, It wasn't too bad. Losts of different era's to choose from, play online, battles everywhere.

Never had any probs playing online with my UK account. That is strange that you couldn't.

Maybe they just don't like me...

I also use my UK Live account, works a treat. Sky player is also something that won't work over here but I have yet to miss any UK specific feature.

We have a North American Xbox360 and wondering if it's worth taking it with us to Switzerland. We have a multisystem TV that it will play on, so all we need (in theory, anyway) is a converter, which can be purchased here for around CAD 70. Do you any of you have any input into whether our kids' existing live accounts will work in Europe? They primarily play COD....

Yes with a transformer a North American XBOX works fine.
You just have to get most of your games from there. I get them when I visit or have family send them to me.
Some games are region free... its up to the publisher. I have bought a few things here that work.
I was able to play online and it worked fine. I no longer have the gold accoutn though.
