Cablecom crashing in Lausanne

LOL, this thread is becoming very hot.. and very entertaining. Thanks OP!

Btw, why people start to attack those who complain personally.. this is a complain corner. Also, no place is perfect, we have the right to complain but doesn't mean we need to leave the country... These posts just keep me smiling.. and i can complain less today, CHeers

Oh still , one more little remark, note, not really a complain, at home, the Cablecom TV is not working properly anymore, and still they could not fix it. Every 10 min, my Cablecom TV switches off automatically...(thats why I am on line now ) mmm, Very advanced country

I know this is Off Topic but what happens to your Cablecom that causes it to "not work".

Hi, i also know its bit Off Topic, i maybe should have a seperate thread for this? On EF, i only found threats about cablecom for internet, not for TV.

Ok, my problem with this CableTV is that every 10 min, i loose the picture on the screen, it says: "Do not switch off, Software updating". Fine, then i dont switch off. after 30 seconds, the TV switches off itself ( or rather say, the Cablecom box), so i lost the connection for my TV. What i do , is just to switch on the cablecom box again... and it works for 10min, then starts over again this "software updating"

Cablecom told me that it is normal,... So all i need is just some more patience every night... i now keep the remote control next to me, and keep pressing the ON button very 10 min Well, sometime it doesnt work that well, i need to wait one hour, 2 hours till the Cablecom TV gets the singal again...

Anyone has similar expériences?

My Cablecom box crashes about once per day. Usually when I am looking at or recording HD programming. Cablecom said that I might want to have them swap the box and I am thinking that they are correct.

But when my box crashes it does just that. It locks up and shuts itself down. No messages. I then reboots and after about 3 minutes I can use it again. Of course any programs being recorded or watched are lost for the duration.

I see, given your location is VD, i guess that this is a common problem here? i will try to swap the box then... Thanks

Re: Cablecom crashing in Lausanne

Do not put up with this. I had the exact same problem (zurich) - did not fix itself within about 3 weeks. I called them up and arranged to replace the box - upgraded to the HD box, which even on the normal channels seems to give a clearer picture and more reliable operation, although certainly not fault-free.
