| We had exactly the same problem on Friday night. The channels were freezing and breaking up so I unplugged it and left it for 10 mins max. When I switched it back on I had the same problem you describe (I could get to our recordings, but not to live TV).
So I took the plunge and called Cablecom, and to be fair, I couldn't have asked for better customer support. He talked me through a forced reset of the box (some buttons underneath the flap on the left of the box), which triggered an important system update that hadn't worked right for my box for some reason. All is fine again now.
I'm quick to complain about poor customer service here (yes, I'm looking at you, Sanitas and Assura) - so it's only fair that I give praise where it's due to Cablecom... | |

My box is also acting up as of Friday - channels change really slow and audio takes a few seconds to pick up. Where was this reset button?
