Super dumb mobile question

This is so stupid it's almost ... no, wait, it definitely is....laughable. So I have our new iPhones set up, new apps installed, even connected both of them to our home wireless router, surfed the web, etc. Now, here's the kicker, every time I dial an actual phone number with one of them, all I get is Orange customer service......WTF?

Re: Super dumb mobile question

Funky, sounds like Orange did not completely enable your sim card or something... The iPhones need to be "registered" first as well, i.e. run through the iTunes software to enable them with the sim card of your phone provider.

Might need to speak to Orange to sort this out, or wait a day.

Back when I got my first sim card a dozen years ago, it worked right away I think?

Re: Super dumb mobile question

Yeah, I did 'register' them since I already ran them through iTunes and got some apps. Bizarre.

Re: Super dumb mobile question

Did you just get the sim cards today? Maybe Orange takes a longer time to activate the numbers compared to Swisscom...

Re: Super dumb mobile question

Got them yesterday. I'll give it until tomorrow to see if they wise up. If not, I'll head down to the Orange store in town.
