Best Phone Applications

I just read that by 2012 mobile phone applications will rise to around 18 billion dollars.

So which are the best / most useful / fun ?

I heard of one where you can answer a call and have false background noise to make it sound like you're at a train station or in a car to fool people at the other end as to where you really are.

Another I saw on BBC Top Gear was when Stephen Fry was showing an iPhone app that could detect if there was another (registered) single gay man nearby. It was quite funny when they tried it out in the studio and one showed up. Must've been a member of the crew as gays are effectively banned.

Obviously maps are cool, but Nokia's only seems to be able to pin point street addresses (not much use walking in the country side/skiing).

I heard the SBB iPhone app is excellent eg you can buy tickets on the train if you're running late.

So have you got any good ones you can recommend?

Re: Best Phone Applications

But I haven't got an iPhone.

Has anyone used Shazam here?
I found it doesn't seem to recognise tunes as well as when I used the dial up one in the UK years ago.
I hate it when you are showing someone how funky it is and it says not recognised, you have not been charged for this call. The new version that comes as an app doesn't seem to use dial up.
