Experience of Premiere / Teleclub

Hi,

I would like to know if anyone subscribes to TeleClub / Premiere and what their experiences are generally. Im seriusly considering this just to get the Premiership football this season. I also understand that some of the films are bilang (de/eng) but does anyone know approx what the % of films are that are broadcast in english?

Re: Experience of Premiere / Teleclub

All I have to say is this, they have movies, yes! But they repete EVERY FREAKING movie! Its so annyoing! To be honest you are better off buying the series you like, I am going to cancell that stupid channel.
Even though the sports section is worth it if you like sports besides good old football!

Re: Experience of Premiere / Teleclub

I had Teleclub and cancelled it. MAR25 is totally right about the movies being repeated. Also the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet are both dubbed in German. I hate that!!

I now have Bluewin TV which is great. I get BBC 1 - 4 and Prime and ITV 1 - 4. It comes with a hard-disc recorder, so I never miss anything. I highly recommend it. You need a VDSL in order to get double streaming. It's a new product, so it still has some problems, but Swisscom is working hard on correcting them.

:-)

Re: Experience of Premiere / Teleclub

I have teleclub purely for the football and since the season ended, i've not watched it at all. the movie channels arent up to much.

The good news is that cablecom will shortly be offering the teleclub channels along with their standard digital tv offer, which means you can just add the sports package to the cablecom digital package.

I'd recommend NOT getting teleclub directly, but subscribe via cablecom. I *think* it actually starts this month, so you'll be in time for the football. I must get round to cancelling my teleclub contract this weekend and doing the same thing.

In terms of the football coverage though, it's great for the premiership and also La Liga.

***UPDATE*** Apparently teleclub channels available from cablecom starting July 24th.

Re: Experience of Premiere / Teleclub

Personally I hate Cablecom and think they are a bunch or rip-off artists. It was so rude how they just turned off some of their analog channels forcing people to get their digital TV product. I heard that they are going to kill them all by the end of the year. Humpf!!!

You can also get the Teleclub package with Bluewin TV.

I actually work for Swisscom, but that is not why I'm plugging this product. It really is good and I'd have it even if I didn't work there.

Re: Experience of Premiere / Teleclub

Fraser, thanks - that sounds like a good option, ie to add just the sports channels to the cablecom package.

One more question. Can you tell me what to expect in terms of Prem coverage ? i.e as a red will i be able to watch the majority of Man U games on Daturday afternoons ?

Cheers

Re: Experience of Premiere / Teleclub

Daturday's *and* Dundays!

Although as a man u fan, you could save money and come round my house for the matches ;-)

On a typical weekend, you'll get 2 games on saturday and the sunday evening game. Last season there was a lot of occassions when there would be 3 games on the saturday or 2 games on the sunday.

Basically excellent premiership coverage, usually with either the sky sports or the setanta(?) commentary available as well. they also cover all the champions league matches across all 3 sports channels.

Teleclub also has games that Sky and Setanta don't show.

I am quite happy with it in terms of sport.

Re: Experience of Premiere / Teleclub

I have Teleclub, but not the sports package, so I can't help you there

It's not bad, especially since you get none of those ads there. Generally only movies in the Channels "teleclub cinema" are bilingual.

Re: Experience of Premiere / Teleclub

So teleclub sports is shown in German only? I will be moving to a permanent apt in December and am looking at my options for prem football. My windows and balcony face the courtyard and other buildings. It may be too tight to angle the satellite. Any other recommendations?
