Hello Shuriken> I don't know if this is helpful, but the law in Switzerland is that even if you marry outside of the country or if you marry in a church in the country, you have to have a civil wedding at a commune office. I recently married my Swiss husband and I went to the Canadian embassy with a lot of documents, followed by getting approval of the documents by the commune we wanted to get married in (you should apply in the commune where you or your partner lives). In summary> Get a civil wedding in Switzerland!! I hope this helps!
This is the first time I've ever heard anyone having to marry again in Switzerland once they were already married. Did they tell you why? Was your wedding only a religious wedding?
