Hello Shuriken> I don't know if this is helpful, but the law in Switzerland is that even if you marry outside of the country or if you marry in a church in the country, you have to have a civil wedding at a commune office. I recently married my Swiss husband and I went to the Canadian embassy with a lot of documents, followed by getting approval of the documents by the commune we wanted to get married in (you should apply in the commune where you or your partner lives). In summary> Get a civil wedding in Switzerland!! I hope this helps!
Thanks ambika_40, can you please recall what type of documents they asked from you? Because what I have seen on the Swiss Consulate site seems actually not much. But I don't know if a marriage approval includes a permanent or long term stay visa. I am curious about the paperworks and the time it takes them to investigate. Thanks again for the message.
