"Global Entry" program into US

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience with the "Global Entry" program in use in the US? I am interested in participating in it as a means to streamline my entering the US, but I have some concerns with giving the US government my data and increasing my risk to be denied entry. While I have not committed any crimes in the US or CH and I am a taxpayer with my CH address on the return, I have been out of the US for several years and my re-entrance permit has expired last August.

As I have a greencard the US government (FBI and Homeland Security) already have my fingerprints and all of my information, so I am not so concerned about giving them this data, but I am concerned with filling in their gaps in their database, or the selling of the information to a private company….the last thing I need is to enter the US and have the automated machine tell me that I can't enter as I have been out of the US for too long.

Appreciate your feedback.
