Re: Cat nightmare

Thank you all for those points.

You may be amused to learn that I decided to sleep in the living room (with the cat) so that the person who has to currently go out and earn the bread and butter could achieve some decent sleep! The cat is happier and more quiet anyway.

About having a second cat - ours is a feisty tortoishell, shy with people. I wonder if she could accept another cat? A kitten perhaps? I would rather not, though.

The balcony is another problem. Our property management company forbids any kind of barrier/netting on the balcony. We would only have put up some chicken wire to a height of 50cm or so - a discreet option. Perhaps we should do it anyway for peace of mind and do the unthinkable in Switzerland: break a rule?

The small mercy is that our cat would fall onto bushes, if she were to fall... I am not liking this train of thought.

I will let you all know how it goes in a couple of months, when we have all settled in the new place.
