Re: Non EU B-Permit Unemployment Benefits

I am petrified that I may get fired. I have a new job (one month into a three months probationary period) and I'm pregnant. Swiss law does not protect pregnant women during the probationary period. I told my employer that I'm pregnant thinking that I was protected.

My question is: Am I eligible for unemployments benefits?
  1. I'm a non-EU citizen
  2. B-permit (married to a Swiss)
  3. 12 months worth of employment in the last 24 months (worked 10 months at previous job in Switzerland - two months at new job)
  4. My permit expires summer 2012
  5. I live in Aargau
Please help or lead me in the right direction.
Under Swiss Law, you have to have worked and contributed to unemployment insurance for 12 of the past 24 months. Your citizenship and type of permit are irrelevant since you are married to a Swiss.
