You import something into Switzerland, then normally you pay Swiss VAT, regardless of whether or not you have paid VAT to another country.

All countries work this way.

Depends - has the OP already imported personal effects under an 18.44 form?? IF NOT - that's your chance. You can import your personal belongings up to 18 months after initially entering (not sure about the legal definition) Switzerland, including the car, tax free.

If you have already done so and not added the car on the final form, then it does get more complicated, depending on the mood of customs usually.
