Pickpockets in Geneva

Nothing is more annoying than discovering that your wallet has been stolen straight out of your bag and realizing when it happened. I recently was on a business trip in Geneva and got my wallet stolen by three men who "squished" me in that (awfully short) escalator from the taxi area to platform 1. It's not the stolen money that pissed me off but all the IDs and credit cards that were in there. If ever you see three men: elderly man (grayish blonde) and southeastern European dudes who suddenly surrounded you in an escalator... be on guard

I also discovered that a colleague of mine had his laptop bag stolen in less than 1 minute. He placed it in the seat next to him so he can take out his blackberry and when he looked, its gone.

So be warned!! The police told me that the incidents of theft has increased heavily in Geneva the past two years.
