I found the local tax office very helpful too. Our first accountant was, in my opinion, a crook who preyed on people unable to speak the local language. They were recommended by a colleague of my husband who was also afterwards very unhappy with them too.

Another local accountant couldn't answer my questions on tax on a pension withdrawal and the tax office could. It ended up being something like 0.06 percent - not really worth seeing an accountant for.
