Re: Bikes and trains with limited bicycle spaces

As already mentioned, there are some trains where, over the busy summer period, you have to reserve a place for the bike. I also book if I just think the train I am going to use may be crowded.

A few times I hvae ended up getting on when the official bike hooks have been taken. In those cases, I have had no problem with standing with my bike for the journey - sometimes shifting it side to side at stops, to allow other passengers to get around it. I have never had a ticketcollector object to this.
