I'm kinda the same. I've never been east of Winnipeg - guess that's what happens when you live in such a massive country!

Banff is nice, but touristy. If you have the chance check out Canmore which is only a half hour away but much more charming, or head up a bit more north to Jasper...

I can see why a trip to Switzerland every 2 or 3 years doesn't feel like enough, that's a long time to be away. I'm curious what you would think of it as an adult...
