Houses in Basel are expensive and apartments with private gardens not easy to find. www.homegate.ch is a good website to browse to get an idea of availability prices etc.

We choose to move out to Rheinfelden which was cheaper for houses taxes and health insurance and still has a good train connection to the city.

When my son reached 4 we decided to move across the border to France as housing here was much cheaper and he could start school.
