The parents-in-law own a chalet in the Valais and their (heavier-duty electricity supply) utilities are cut off between 12 - 2 every day, apparently it is due to freeing up electricity for the lunchtime rush, or so I have been told.
That is correct, and usually the time is from 11:30 to 13:30
There is a relay-contactor behind the switchboard, which cuts the power, it is often a cantonal ruling. The machines usually restart with no problems.
