Re: Cylinder Head on an American SUV

I have experience with old engines, and back then you could remove the cylinder head leaving the engine block in place.

You should consider what is wrong with the head, as for instance some engines sag and that requires removing the block and machining it flat.

I suggest you buy a workshop manual for the car and engine, and find a suitable forum for any good tips.
