Were we to want it reinstating I'm not sure if we'd need to take the test again, but I imagine that with the previous record of having had it that should not be necessary. In your case, presumably when you exchanged you told them not to bother with the C cat, but they must have made a note of it, so you might get lucky.
Yep this is correct Cat C has a 2yr medical only in place but no retest required. Yes I gave mine up at the point of exchange as the license I got back has no Cat C and the license I had (UK) did have it, only realised afterwards
