Stepping briefly into your mindset..... the 'culprit' you are looking for is an imaginary line that runs around the middle of the earth.

Use Google maps to find "the Equator" and find a suitable country that is located nearby.

You should then resolve:
a) dark and cold winter days
b) uneven daylight hours
c) resetting of clocks.
