If you were to ask me 10 years ago, I would have told you that no way in hell I would move away from NYC. Having lived in Switzerland for a while now, I an always happy to be back after travel to NY/London for all positive reasons you've already stated.

If you're not yet a US person, once you move to NYC, you will be considered a US person from the perspective of Swiss banks. You'll therefore be forced to make certain declarations to your Swiss banks including submissions of FBAR filings, future tax returns, etc. There may be limitations imposed to your Swiss accounts as well.
