I doubt There will be any market for it other than the tightest of expats. Switzerland is already one of the cheapest places in Europe to buy computer equipment, and you can already get a new laptop with 2 years warranty for under 400chf. What your mate will be selling will likely end up at around 250-400chf.

Then there's the issue of how much the battery and hard drive will have degraded on those multiple-year old laptops, meaning the warranty service (if any) would need to be at least a year, and based in Switzerland.

Personally I don't think it's so viable or necessary in CH. Good luck to your mate whatever he tries though.
