Re: Ricardo Scam

Just wanted to confirm another similar case. The flow is following.
Scammer sends you a pm on Ricardo with a gmail address with request to provide the buy-now price for your item. When you do so, he writes back with some shitty texts, like:
- Wie lange haben Sie es gehört?
- Was ist Ihre tatsächliche Preis
- Ich liebe ein Schnäppchen

when you reply again answering that, he writes that he want to buy item really fast and asks you for your paypal account.

At this moment I have stopped as I ve realised that it is a scam. He send me one more message saying that he is extremly keen on to have the item and have own transportation company/courier(!) what was extremly funny in my case, as the item I was selling was kind of hand-made art which is does not weight at all. Just to point that it was not an iphone or camera or any of those stuff-types.
So I believe it has to be kind of bot.
If the button with white words on orange background "Frage beantworten " then I will reply.
Recently seems to be lots of messages with xxxx. g m a i l . c o m then the "Frage beantworten " does not work. I am not going to reply through my email.

As far as I am concerned I am selling something through Ricardo & agree to their rules. So far have been happy with both buying and selling ricardo in the normal way.

Have no idea how ricardo treats people who send messages with their gmail.com in a message, perhaps they ban then for a period of time or not?

The only difference is with selling a car & buyers wants to view first, the price is listed on ricardo and any further discussion is after potential buyers views car. Long time ago now, think we listed a phone number in the advert.
