Similar scams are conducted across all major marketboards across the world and are referred to in the same format. "ebay scam", "craigslist scam", "kijiji scam" etc. There was even a murder conviction where the victims were lured by a job ad on craigslist. The case was referred to as "craigslist killers". I highly doubt anyone was dense enough to believe that it was in fact craigslist itself that was killing people.
