Re: Driving a car with foreign plate with Swiss Driving License in Switzerland

Of course, you can keep a car in Germany. You just wouldn't be able to drive it in/through Switzerland to go anywhere else if you have a Swiss driver's licence. People who have Swiss driver's licences aren't allowed to drive foreign plated vehicles here. So if you wanted to drive from Germany to Italy you'd have to go via Austria, not Switzerland.

You'd also have to declare it as part of your worldwide wealth on your Swiss tax return.
