Will the dog be old enough to have his/her rabies vaccination? If not they ask for a note from the vet declaring the pup has lived with the breeder/seller from birth.

We imported a 9 week old Lab last year, paid our German VAT and declared him and paid the Swiss 8% at the border. We did not get the German tax back either but...

The other requirements last year were that the dog of course needed to be chipped and have his EU pet passport, I have heard of people having been asked for proof of having taken their dog theory course, we were not.

I would expect however to do this by train as others have suggested you would need to get off do the paperwork and continue your journey later.

Good luck and all the best with the new puppy
I had a dog in CH and I'm bringing all the related paperwork with me (including courses certificates) in case the breeder wants to see it, so I'm good here.

Not many pics to post so far
