The whole Free Speech debate is a complete red herring, these men weren't radicalised by cartoons but events taking place 000s of miles away in Iraq. When they chose to strike and make a point, rather than hitting a French military base they chose a much softer target. Charlie Hebdo was a lightening rod for their rage, but NOT the cause.
