I do know a chap with rheumatoid arthritis. He has found consistently that cutting out wheat makes his symptoms go away. And when he eats wheat again, they come back. Which is fine. Where I disagree with him is his contention that (modern) wheat is poisonous and so I should stop eating it as well.

We're all different. Except for me, obviously.
Same for me with lupus - when I eat wheat, I feel awful. So if someone complains about feeling unwell, I do suggest they try cutting out certain foods. Turns out people prefer to complain rather than stop eating muffins. Oh well.
