Hi

The marriage certificate already once Legalised will again be "Revalidation Apostille" in other terms means re-legalization and this will be done by MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
NEW DELHI, INDIA

In your case attestation from Deputy Secretary Home, State Government is not required as it has been already done once. But you need to get your document revalidated by MEA. I hope this helps.

Hello

We visited Zivilstandsamt and received the checklist of documents need to be submitted for newborn birth registration in Zurich.

They mentioned parent's marriage certificates and birth certificates should be legalized through:

1. Deputy Secretary Home, State Government Attestation
2. Ministry of External Affairs Attestation and Apostille

When we came to Zurich on L permit , our marriage certificate was already legalized as a mandate. However now we see that the home department attestation stamp was of <Section Officer , Grade A Service , Home Dept Govt of West Bengal>

Can it create a problem now here since the checklist says they want attestation from Deputy Secretary Home, State Government?

Kindly advise if possible
Please note that "Revalidation Apostille" is only valid for Marriage certificate since it is only issue once so the same piece of document needs to be re-validated every time it is required.

In case fo D.O.B certificate it needs to be attested by
1. COUNTER SIGNED DEPUTY SECRETARY HOME, Govt. of State
2. MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS NEW DELHI, INDIA

every time DOB certificate is needed. As validity of D.O.B certificate is only 6 months. After that whole process of issuing D.O.B certificate and legalizing it has to be performed.
