Hope your family are covering the costs of your language course. They're supposed to.

Most of those rules will apply to Swiss nationals too.

My family paid a half language course for me to the Migros School, but basically they don't have to pay it obligatory.
I went to an agency in Lugano where they look for the families, ask you your skills and your needs, what you want to be (if nanny, aupair or baby sitter..) and help you to find the best family based on your requests. They also clearly explain you have to cover the costs of the language courses.
It's okay, I had a bad experience with a family in Basel where I only stayed for 1 month, and now I just feel lucky, this family is perfect for me and I feel good with them
