Costs for giving birth in 2015/2019

Just FYI for those people wondering about the costs of giving birth in Switzerland with basic insurance.

Normal pregnancy no complications, hospital vaginal birth, 5 day hospital stay (max allowed).

Initial visit, lab testing and blood typing not covered - 170
Prenatal vitamins not covered even with prescription - 50*2
Orthopedic insoles needed not covered - 340

Visit to emergency due to stomach bug with IV and ultrasound (before 13th week) in a different canton, covered fully by insurance - 340
Pressure stockings mostly covered - 290
Checks including ultrasounds, blood testing, paperwork, physio for feet and back, glucose testing, midwife after birth home visit, 6 weeks after birth visit all covered by insurance - 3400
Hospital birth and 5 day stay paid for by insurance - 3500

Not everything is here, but most of it is and all the of the big things.
Hope this is helpful.
