Just an FYI - custody can mean both Obhut (permission to live with the child) and Sorgerecht (right to educate and raise the child, act as legal guardian, have responsibility of the child's wealth, determine where the child lives), which are two different things.

Also, I'm sure you mean parental custody, rather than physical?
Yes, "thanks" to my recent separation I know way more about these issues that I would like to. We lived in the US until recently and the lawyer I spoke to there used the words "legal custody" which I think is synonymous with sorgerecht and "physical custody" which I think is synonymous with obhut.

Please do not take offense, but have you tried Google?

https://www.google.ch/search?num=20&...nierende+Obhut

The second link in my search result goes to http://www.wechselmodell.ch/ which, on the surface, looks like a totally fantastic resource.
Trust me, I have spent hours on Google and making phone calls! Those websites seem to mostly be trying to convince a skeptical Swiss public that joint custody is posssible and will not somehow harm the child. Sadly, I think the organizations are run by fathers who would have liked to share custody but could not, because the mother refused. There is no legal basis for this in Switzerland, the whole system is set up for "the mother gets the kids and the father pays". I am incredibly lucky to have an ex-partner who despite all the problems we have with one and other values the relation I have with my son. Anyway, there seems to be literally no information available, that's why I am resorting to looking for people who can share their personal experiences.
