Several weeks. You'll need to give biometric info at some point in the process, they'll ask to you come along and give that when they're ready. But you can start work straightaway as your permit has already been approved. You should get a piece of paper when you register that says your permit is being processed and you can use that to do things like open a bank account, get a mobile phone, etc.
