Re: anybody experience with surgery in Switzerland / CHUV Lausanne hospital?

Geeze, what country do you come from? How do you expect student doctors to learn if they don't operate under supervision? There's only so much they can do at university to learn these things, but practical hands-on experience has to be gained somewhere.

You'll be fine. We've had several stays in the cantonal hospital here in Fribourg and the care has been excellent. Whenever we've seen a student doctor they have always consulted with the head of the department before taking action. Public does not equal bad, in the same way that private does not equal best.
