Re: anybody experience with surgery in Switzerland / CHUV Lausanne hospital?

If you're familiar with the US system an assistant is a resident. So a doctor.

Always supervised by a more senior physician.

CHUV is an academic medical center - you can't get away from the learning aspect. On the positive side, these places are where you want to be with complications. To emphasize Medea Fleecestealer's point - sometimes private clinics do not have all the stuff required to deal with complications.

Good luck with your surgery. You should discuss your concerns with your physician as well.
