Having lived with lovely hijab-wearing women in the last few weeks has really opened my eyes to its attractiveness and understanding of it. As long as one wears a niqab as a personal choice, it's a lovely way to proclaim one's faith and belief. As soon as it becomes forced, it loses its attractiveness and personal identity.
Two questions:
1: Why is it needed to profess religious beliefs at all externally? It should be something personal, between you are your God. Europe in general is a secular society, you don't really see many people on a daily basis wearing religious paraphernalia. I'd like to keep it that way.

2: How can it be known who is wearing a burka because they want to and who is being forced to wear one? Since there really isn't any way to know who is being subjugated and who isn't, wouldn't it be better to just ban burkas in EU entirely as an enforcement of gender equality?
